Subject: module for window roll up and down?
Date Posted: December 27, 2006 at 8:28 PM

Guys, I want to add to my door (driver side) Auto window down and Auto window up.  Is there is availabe in the market a module that can do this?  Usually I know that the available window modules are for two windows but both roll down of both roll up.

What I want to do is conect the window control module only to the drivers window motor. When I just touch the window switch down  for one seg, it will auto down and when I touch the window switch up for one seg it will auto up.

I am looking for a window control module that do one window roll up and roll down and it will activate with momentary pulse. Do any body knows of a windo control module model that do this? Can you give me the brand, part number, etc

Thx for your help,

Isaac

you can get a dei 530t it will do auto up and down for two windows along with roll up/down with remote. for a sedan, you need two modules.

Guys, I got a window switch from a Lexus LX470 from a junk jard. The Lexus LX470 comes factory with auto up/down on the four windows on the driver side. For example I draw one switch so you can undertand. As you can see on the diagram it has 1 pin that activate the auto UP and 1 pin for auto down.

This switch work the following way. If you only want to roll down the window a little you just push it lightly but if you want to make it to go auto down you just push it harder and you will fill like a click and the window will auto down. It work the same way for the up.

I going to intall this switch on my car in order that it have auto up/down. I going to order a DEI 530T window module for this.

Please, check the diagram I have draw in order that you can let me know if it going to work the way I want. I want to have the avility to roll down/up the window a little and also have the avility to auto down/up.

Check and you will see I have change the black and vilolet wires that initialy goes to ground but I will hook them to the motor wires. What I dont have clear yet is if the Black wire goes with the Green or Blue or the Vilotet goes with the Blue or Green

Let me know what you think and if it going to work :-) I have not order yet the DEI 530T

THX,

Isaac

I am pretty sure it need to have 4 relays built in. 2 relays for each window.  So I will need to open it to separated the ground on each relay so it work the way I want it.

Your idea won't work for various reasons. The biggest reason....if you just hit the switch partially down for a split second...the window will still go all the way down.

Using the original switch in the car...do you realize you can still lower your window only a few inches at a time with the 530T installed? You don't have to have the windows go all the way up or all the way down everytime you hit the switch.

Without actually opening a 530T, I will say 4 relays: left UP, left DOWN, right UP, right DOWN.

OK, do you guys know were exactly on the Lexus GX 470 or LX 470 is the window auto up/down factory module is located?

My car is a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. This car is exactly the same as the Lexus GX 470 but with less features (it just have auto down for the driver window ONLY) I want to add Auto up and thats why I am thinking about the DEI 530T.

Could it be possible that the  Lexus GX 470 window auto up/down factory module is build inside the switches that goes on the drivers door.   Maybe I can get this complete window switches and intall it on my car and solve my problem.

Isaac

Just get a 530T and you will have 1-touch up and down for both front windows. Get another one...and you can do the rear doors. You are making this way too complicated.

you can also goto a electrical wholesaler and buy relay's with a 12 volt coil N/O type. You will need one relay per window and a aux output of control modul. most units have a AUX neg out rated really low a few milli amps so for this type of system

you might need to add a timer relay in there for to hold the contacts on for the time it takes your windows ti roll down wich would need to be hooked up in seires with the -neg output from AUX i can re - draw if you want.

Let me ask this one more time:

Could it be possible that the  Lexus GX 470 window auto up/down factory module is build inside the switches that goes on the drivers door.

i couldve sworn i replied to a thread like this somewhere. anyways, my 4runner has front windows auto up/down but not the back. i was planning to desolder a set of auto switches and put them on my 4runner, then use a 530t i have layin around.

I thought hard about this and it should work.

my 00 4runner doesnt have a window module externally, its not like what ive seen like on LS and GS. possibly, that switches of your have an external module.

your prado doesnt ahve auto up/down at all?

My Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, only have Auto Down on the drivers door. It does not have Auto Up.

I know the Lexus GX 470 has Auto UP/Down on the four doors on the driver side window switches and thats why I am asking if the Auto Window mudule is built inside this switches.  This way I can try to get this driver switches and install it on my car.

Most newer cars (esp. Japanese) use a very complicated obstacle detection system that is way more involved then just a switch or motor.  They typically have an encoder built in to the motor that sends pulses back to the power window module.  If the puleses drop below a certain frequencey while not at the beginning or end of travel the windows will stop, and in most cases roll back down.

Other cars use current draw for anti pinch.  If your car does, then the swiches might be swappable.

Also, you should never drive windows with relays alone, as you won't have any anti pinch protection and you'll slowly wear your motors out.

Guys, I was checking the Auto Page AC-78 Window Roll up module features and I really apreciate you let me know if the DEI 530T work the same way.(Point # 3)

Here is the Auto Page AC-78 features. Please check point #3

1.      Quickly press and release the window control switch to the roll-up position. The window will roll all the way up on its own and then stop when fully up.

2.      Quickly press and release the window control switch to the roll-down position. The window will roll all the way down on its own and stop when fully down.

3.      Normal window roll up and down is not eliminated. Press and hold the switch in either the up or down position. The window will move in the direction selected and then stop when you release the switch.

4.      Both the driver window and the passenger window can be controlled from the driver’s side switches.

THX,

Isaac
