I have just installed a predator 4001 in a 95 Maxima. After finally getting the remotes programmed and the auto-tach-sense it starts sometimes. occassionally it will start catch and immediately shut down then it will re-start catsh, the daytime running lights come on and it will runn for 10-15 seconds then the module shuts it down.

The tach sens lead comes from  the drivers side front bank injector. System is powered direct to the battery, ground is under the dash. The onboard programming features all function. I have tried it with the valet switch in the on position as well as in the off and get no difference.

What do I need to check next. all of these trials were done with the drivers door open, in order to disable the factory alarm.

do you have a shutdown menu, it tell ya what casue it to shut down.
also can you start with key and active the remsote start and pull key out. never hear of predator. does thsi only happens when car is cold, what happens if car is at hot temp.

sounds like a issue with the tach, either in programing, location or just a cold solder joint.

I am not aware of a shutdown menu, nothing in the manuals. the car is warm as the tach programs automatically, I will try it in the AM.

No No No, I wasnt saying the car was cold, I was saying you could have a cold solder joint where you connected your tach, or if you used connectors mabye its not making a solid conection.

Understood, I was actually replying to the post above yours when you posted yours. Cold solder joint, how about no solder. The guy who did the original install only twisted the wires and never soldered anything. When the car was cold today, it worked fine until I hooked up the alarm disarm signal. Up to this point I had left the door open which held the alarm off. When it was originally wired, he connected to the door door open signal line instead of the disarm line. Everytime yu started the car the alarm would go off.  Same issue with the trunk release but connecting my negative trunk trigger from the RS to the trunk key signal line and a relay which then fires the trunk actuator and that issue was solved in a matter of minutes  (wiring it took significantly longer). Thanks for the help, I now have one remote for the car that works everything I need.
