Hi, I have installed a Viper 591xv in an 01 Alero, using 1700g passlock module.  On the passlock module there is a blue wire that says "Connect to a wire that grounds the whole time the vehicle is in remote start mode"   This is killing me.  If i just ground the wire the remote start works great but runs the battery dead.  If i leave it unhooked, the cars for 2 secs and dies.  Any help would be great appreciated :)

On your viper r/s unit will be a wire to hook up that is called ground out when running, or something to that nature which you need to feed into the bypass unit.  When you hit the remote start button the r/s will now put ground to your bypass which will then power up the bypass allowing it to work. Once you are on key power and hit the brakes and turn off the r/s this will now remove that ground from the bypass and DE-power the bypass so it aint killing your battery no more. This WILL solve your problem!!!

My battery is still going dead.  I am pretty sure everything is connected right, but maybe there is something i didn't put on i should have?  The Led on the passlock module is on all the time, should it be?  Do i need a diode somewhere?

the light in your bypass is an L.E.D. so even if its on all the time it would take a very long time to kill your battery. i think  Something else is staying powered up. Check your connections again to see if you got something wrong!!
