I recently bought an aga1201 car alarm and remote starter from aftermarket generation and it comes with the crappiest manual ever. NO details whatsoever, but eh, it was cheap. I hope someone in here can help me with installing this unit into my car.

So after much research, I found this wiring diagram for my car which is a ford taurus 2003. here is a link to the diagram. https://www.commandocaralarms.com/wiring/2001/Ford/Taurus. I'm confused as to whether i need to purchase 2 additional relays or not. From my research so far, i don't think i need any relay for the power lock and unlock. The manual for the aga1201 is not helping me so far in my endeavor. what do i need to make this a complet installation. I want to be able to unlock/lock doors, be able to pop the trunk with the remote, and maybe later on, after i have so money to buy the keyless bypass unit, I'll finish the remote start feature of the alarm. Are there wires from the alarm that we're not suppose to use? and when do i need to use a relay? do i need to use a relay for the door unlock/lock? And where do i connect -200mA disarm output, and -200mA rearm output. what's that? what's the point of connecting the -200mA dome light supervision output?
Any help would be greatly apprectiate. or if you can link me to where i can get some resource.

On the alarm there is a 10-pin connector primary harness.
the pin are as follow (by manual)
pin 1: brown wire:siren output (+)-this is obvious for me
pin 2: white wire: parking light output (+/-) relay. do i need a relay then and then connect the relay to the parking light? or can i just connect it directly?
pin 3: violet: unlock #87a normally closed
pin 4: blue/black: unlock #30 common (output)
Pin 5: BROWN / black: unlcok #87a normally open (input)
pin 6: violet?black: lock #87a normally closed
pin 7: GREEN/ black:lock #30 common (output)
pin 8: WHITE/ black: lock #87 normally open (input). i didn't get all of that. i thought i only have to connect 1 wire to power lock wire, then another to the negative lock. do i need to use 2 relay here? confused.
pin: 9: red constant -obvious
pin 10:black system ground -obvious.

6-pine secondary harness for output
pin 1: orange wire: armed output (-)500mA. what is this use for? it said the orange wire supplies a ground output while armed to activate a relay for starter defeat and anti-grind protection.
pin 2- blue wire: second unlock (passenger unlock) output (-) 200mA. how do i make use of this.

again any help would be appreciated. where can i buy relays?

You typed this incorrectly....there are too many 87a's Your unit has built in door lock relays. for lock you will have 87, 87a, and 30. And the same for unlock.  These are the pin#'s of a standard bosch style relay.

Based on what you typed....this is not a remote start, or did you leave some harness description out?

i left the remote start out because i'm not planning to install that until i get the bypass unit. i'm merely trying to install the alarm. those pins are suppose to be for the door lock/unlock function. i want to know how and where do i connect those pin to cause i thought there was just 1 wire for door lock and 1 for unlock. do i need any relay for the trunk, and so and so?

I think the taurus is a (-) lock/unlock setup.. so connect the wire from pin 30 to ground [on both lock and unlock from your alarm, then conect the wire from the alarm [pin 87] to the lock wire on the car.. same for unlock.. ya dont need any extra relays . if your park light output wire has a fuse [at least 10amp] then ya probably dont need a relay just connect it up and make sure to program your alarm module to the polarity of your parking lite ckt.... if it doesnt then go to radio schack and get one.. and keep the polarity straight so nothing goes up in smoke...

what about the 87a pin. does that one matter? just don't use it? park light output wire from the car? or from the alarm system? park light output? what's that. where can i get relays for cheap, like 5 bucks a pop.

I need help. I finish installing the alarm portion of my install. now i have question and request.

for those with a ford taurus 2003, can you take a picture of where the tach sensor wire is located? according to the diagram, it is at the pcm under the hood on the passenger side. I don't understand where the heck that is, and beside , that would mean i have to run a wire from the hood to the inside of the car. i read somewhere in here that the tach signal is located in the driver side, can some please take a picture of that or point me in the right direction please.

also, i got a bypass unit for the remote start that is supposedly keyless, but in order to program the unit, i need two keys. is there any way around this? i only have 1 original key. is there ANY way to program it then or am i screw? i was thinking of inserting one key, then remove it, and within 5 seconds, just put the same key back in. i know this is not going to work, but someone with experience, or someone who have experience this, please let me know.

thank you for your help.

I don't have any pictures.

Above the parking brake pedal, are two square plastic thingies, each with a bolt in the middle, with wires coming out the side of the plastic.

On some, but not all Tauri, there's a tan / YELLOW in one of those plugs that is tach.

If you do have to run wires under the hood, there's an empty rubber plug very low in the center of the car's firewall, behind the center of the plastic heater vents......a little tricky to get to, but it's there.

The only way to do transponder bypass without two good keys would be to permanently bypass the car's transponder system forever, and start using regular keys.........not worth the trouble.

You'll need to have a locksmith or dealer make and program you another key.

i have the xk04 bypass and it's suppose to be keyless. why do you need 2 keys to program it? anyone here knows why? and how would the dealer know which key to program for me?

Its just a ford thing, ya need both keys, if the dealer makes you a new key, then your good to go... The dealer will wipe out the existing keys i think and reprogram your original, and the new.. or some can do it by vin number I think...
