i just install this combo unit and i have a couple problems. first this car is a 2000 mazda protege ,single wire door locks and i install two1.5 resistor and two relays to the same wire coming from the swicth withuot cutting the wire. and when i press the lock on the remote it close the doors ,but when i press the unlock button the doors will close again, how i should have wired this locks. and also the remote start comes with a relay and wires to hook up to the ignition in order to start the car and also to cut off the power to the starter during alarm triggering, it has a violet + wire coming from a wire harness and it also has a relay with four or five wires including another violet wire ,how should i connect this wires propertly. the directions on the manual don't have a diagram for this step.shoul i cut the wire in half and connect one violet wire to each side? thanks

Only the lock relay should have the resistor. Remove the resistor from the unlock and it should work...

i'm been trying to set up my timer on my autopage system so it can start every morning ,but i cannot get it to work.on page 11 of the manual tells you to press and hold the set button for 3 seconds and  then press and hold the unlock for 2 seconds and then  i see the icon of a clock and the car running and then adjust the starting hour and minutes and then hold the set button for  2 second to exit. i do all these steps but the car does not starts the next morning on it's own. also there is no icon on the screen showing the clock.on page 24 of the manual, tells you depress the set button first and within 3 press * or the remote start button and the lights are supposed to blink 6 times.when i do this step ,either nothing happens or the car will start and sometimes the starter stays engage for a long time an i just press the remote start button again to shut it off.can someone tells me what i'm doing wrong. thanks

Can you remote start manually?  That is; by pressing the * button.  If not have you done the remote start setup in the installation guide?  If that is not done the timer start function will not work.

Did you install the alarm yourself?  If so did you program the remote start to use the tachometer mode or did the installer do that?  This is the best way to do remote start.  If not you need to be sure that your tach wire is connected and that you have gone through all the steps to program tach mode.

I have the same type of alarm.  I have not used daily timer start but mine is using tach mode.  I'll try the DTS function tonight and let you know if it works OK for me.

Well I tried it last night and it did work but not as I expected.

First, it took a while to get the timing right to enable the DTS.  I had to keep doing the button presses until I finally got the 6 chirps.  Once that was done the timer icon came up as it should.  Once it reached the desired time after about 20 seconds the vehicle started normally.  So it appears to work correctly.

What I don't like is that once it starts the vehicle if you push * to stop the engine it clears the DTS so you have to go back through the setup all over again.  I am not sure if this is necessary if you place the key in the ignition and drive off without cancelling the remote start.  If it cancels DTS each time you use it then this feature is not very useful as it is tricky to get it set up.

So here's each step that I did to get it to work.

1) I use tach mode for remote start

2) Set up DTS time as shown on page 11 in ops manual

3) Press the * button to remote start, once started and you hear the 4 beeps press the trunk unlock button, now WITHIN 2 SECONDS, press the set button and WITHIN 3 SECONDS, press the * button.  You'll get the 6 chirps and the timer icon will show on the remote.

That should do it.

I can't say that it does. But mine works properly that way.  You can use voltage check mode but Autopage recommneds that you try tach mode first.  If your vehicle does not have a tach wire then all you can use is voltage check or timer check but that would be least recommended.  With tach RPM learning mode the starter will disengage properly each time because the RS can detect when the engine has started properly.

thanks for your help, it finally work, but like you said, it cancels itself everytime you used it, i hope that there is another way to do it, where you don't have to set it up everytime. let me know if you find a way . thanks
