Ok well I have been searching every vendor site, this board and every artical I could find on the net for this info.

Is there any stand alone car alarms that can be programed to use a factory keyless entry fob.

I know DEI makes an add on system but I am looking for something completely independant of the factory system. Normaly using an aftermarket FOB would not be an issue but the Keyless entry buttons ar on the key itself so it would seem stupid to have a key with buttons and a seperate fob for the alarm.\

Thanks.

There is nothing I am aware of that would interpret the commands from your factory key fob to activate and deactivate an after market alarm.

All of the add on alarms I am aware of use the lock and unlock of the vehicle to arm and disarm.

OK Then on to the next question lol.

I am building a 67 Mustang and though it will be old I am still trying to add alot of modern features to it. I am using an ignition cyl off of an Acura which has a laser cut key...and the key that goes with it is a switchblade key with the keyless entry contols built into it.

Since this is a ground up build does anyone know where I can get the factory Acura keyless entry brain without going through a dealership???

Go to some of the tuner / import car sites, those guys will strip things out and sell the origuinal parts... programing things may be a challenge
