I am pretty sure I am in the right forum...if not mods, feel free to move it.
I have autoloc's 75lb pull solenoids in all 4drs of my dodge ram and i am having trouble with them, the inner rod which is held together with e-clips, keeps pulling through those said e-clips. Is there another solenoid that maybe has a threaded end or some other sort of clip to hold it together?
------------- I was born with nothing and I still have most of it left.

Dump the E clips and weld in some tubeing so the rod can't pull off..

i would still like to be able to rebuild it if need be....maybe i can just thread the rod and put a nut or two on it.

How are you pulling with the solenoid. sol. pulling the rod or a direct pull to the latch release? I know it's a pain, but cutting the inner door a bit and fabing some brackets, then useaircraft cable to pull the release lever on the latch gives ya a pretty fail safe door popper. Mabey I'm just not following your method...

It is pulling the latch, the solenoid is mounted on the lower portion of the door and guide up to the latch for a direct 90 degree pull on the latch assembly itself (using sheathed aircract cable).

Ok that sounds like it's right, what rod is it pulling out? afterre reading your post, I am assuming it is the solenoind that you are having problems with not the door mechanism... correct?

correct, it is the solenoid. the inner piston/rod thing that runs through the center of the electromagnet,
