I just bought an ultra alarm 640 https://www.ultrastarters.com/640.html

This alarm is going into my 98 s10 w/o power locks.  It does have the security light in the dash.  I wanted to use aux 4 and 5 to activate my solenoids to pop open the doors.  I was gonna have a shop install this, but they said they didnt know if it would work with my alarm.  They said it depends on how long the signal lasts going to the solenoids.  If its doesnt stay open long enought it wouldnt open the solenoids enough?  Does this make sense.  Could someone tell me if this alarm will work for me.

Here is a diagram:     https://www.ultrastarters.com/Feature_Sheets/U640/MAN-6xx-INSTALL-U-2006.pdf

Thanks

That sounds like they just aren't sure how it's done. Activating a solenoid takes less than a second to activate, and both the 4 and 5 channels can be set to an active output(meaning they will have an output as long as you hold the button down). So to answer your question, yes it will work just fine. You will need two relays to do this tho....

it is a good alarm i have installed a few of those u will just use 1 of the aux outputs and have one for a spare. like said u will just need a relay. it will work fine with ur alarm. there is 2 blue leds in ur antenna that flash when armed and they are brite. take it to a different shop. the biggest problem is most shops wont install anything they dont sell...

As stated the alarm will have no problems triggering aftermarket actuators/door pops. I to have installed them and they work well, its nice being able to change shock sensor settings without taking the vehicle apart also....We won't install some units bought online or wal-mart for obviuos reasons but in reality you'll make more on labor than the product anydayposted_image..............

u got it ,that is exactly why i like the 640 it is customer friendly. how many alarms let the customer adjust the sen. like the dei's that have the little pot that is made of cheap plastic and the customer will find it and strip it out...
