I have recently installed a GV9 (noname) remotestart/alarm in my car.  The problem is when I connect the LED's stay stuck on, and well it doens't work at all.  The remote seems fine, it shows the little "no reception" icon, but the car leds (one normal blinking one, and 2 on the valet switch/antenna) stay on.  I tried reprogramming the remotes, but they still did not detect the car, so i tried to reprogram the alarm system, but it doesn't seem to respond.  When I push the vallet button the leds get slightly brighter, but nothing else seems to happen.  I tried unplugging different things, like the led, the power locks, etc. and as long as the brain has power and ground, the vallet lights stayed on :(

Could it be a bad brain unit?

I think so?  It's a bolt on the frame, when i disconnect the wire the lights turn off.  It only has one ground as well.  I just tried changing it to a direct grounding wire to the battery, same result posted_image

My advice to you, is to never again buy any electronics off of E-Bay..... I cannot tell you the horror stories a guy my age has heard. And I'm not even that old....

I agree with KarTuneMan, buying off of Ebay is risky. But if you are going to buy there at least buy a name brand product. I admit I have purchased a lot of R/S systems there before getting my local supplier and I only bought the major brands and never had I problem.

Good luck,

Ed

Yes, I've learned my Ebay lesson, the hard way for sure.

Anyways, I"m installing it into a 1995 Honda Civic Coupe.  I found the cars wiring diagrams off of several good sites, and they all matched up, so I'm not concerned with those.  Here is a link to the alarms wiring diagram.

Without the brand it is dificult to say but my predator requires the key on, engine off, foot on the brake in order to change the valet mode. Without all three met, the switch is just a nice toy that does nothing. Further, the system cannot program remotes while in valet mode.

heres another fine example of people buying crap off of Ebay,  trying to save a buck and in the long run he'll endup buying a major brand alarm real soon.
