would anyone know systems that are highly recommended? I am looking to control a lot of devices in my ride. A 2-way system that supports additional outputs (programmable would be excellent), good range with auto start. I read up on DEI systems such as the Python, Viper and Clifford. I would like to purchase the Python SST but it stated they recommend certified installer to install their product or else the warranty will be voided.
I am not to much into Commando alarms... had purchased 3 alarms and the ranges on all of them is not all that.
Old- FM Combo 2 way (earlier version of the FM 870) installed on a accord 2000, works fine, could operate at good distance for about 5 years... now I can only operate if I am up to 20 feet away and with that said, I sometimes get the confirmations on my transmitter.
New- FM 870 installed on a 04 accord- works great has a lot of programmable outputs but the range on it sucks...even after checking the antenna wire and relocating it, the range still sucks.
RS 560- installed on a 99 accord - not a 2 way but the range is great... only thing is the crap goes off middle of the night. I checked all my wirings, went into programming mode check that and everything was good. Called Commando tech and they said it could be a drop in the voltage in such case the cars cooling fan turning on. From my understanding this system doesn’t have current sense as an option.
Try looking at the Omega Max-E with the 2 way Echo Module. Most systems recommend professional installation, if you're not sure about doing it think about this. A fewof hundred dollars for a professionally installed system is a lot less then towing it to a shop if you damage something in the electrical or computer system. IMHO
