Working in a 2005 F-150 Quad Cab, Using a Python 881XP, and the bypass module 556S 1. The 556S says the Keysense wire on the module is not needed...But I see it on the Directwire so?? Wondered if it actually needed. 2. Car will turn on when Remote Started but it will not crank over. The Tach is good according to the LED light and the readings and all of the power wires have 12v at the time of Remote Start. I put the key in the ignition and tried to Remote Start but it still will not crank over. Basically it will activate but no cranking..please help. Thank You Guys

make sure all ignition wires hooked up and tach learned.

Try unoing the 556s and put a key in the ign. Then try to start if it starts then you know its with the bypass if not its with the wiring or tach.Should only have 1 ign and 1 acc the truck does not need the keysense wire to start.

If there's a problem with the 556S the theft light in the truck will flash when it tries to remote start. If it goes out, it's working fine. No, the keysense is not needed on the 556S. Use your DVM to determine if there is 12volts on the purple starter wire when it should be cranking.

Definetly verify that the start wire is powering up when attempting to remote start. Also verify that you in fact have a tach lead or try running the remote start set to voltage sensing. And as stated keysense is unnecessary with the 556s.

Like chris354 said. There is no point in fooling around with the bypass if you haven't yet verified that the remote starter itself is installed correctly and working.
Unplug bypass, and attempt remote start with key in ignition.
Also, yes, DEI lists the keysense wire, but they do that on almost every car, regardless of whether or not it's needed.........I've never needed it on that truck for anything.

sounds like starter wire is not getting power- also check the ignitions.

Make sure you have the green wire off the relay pack to the key side of the starter wire and the purple wire on the other side . If you have these 2 connections backwards it can cause the problem you're having.
