I just finished my Viper 1000 install.I used the acc. on after ignition is shut off to keep the radio powered up. I don't like that power feeds other circuits. What diode can I use to isolate the radio? Should I worry about the amp rating of the diode? Thanks!

I don't understand what you are attempting to do.....and more importantly, why?

I'm sorry I don't get it.

My alarm has a output channel that maintains power till a door is opened or alarm is armed. I connected this to my radio so it will stay powered till I get out of the car. The only down side is power back feeds into the rest of the circuits that are also on that side of the circuit. I wan't only to have the radio power up, so I would like to isolate the radio circuit.

I got it. I had a diode sitting arond for a install a long time ago. I installed it on the factory harness wire that supply's 12volts to the radio with the key on. Then placed the alarm wire after the diode. Now only radio stay's powered up when the key is turned off.
