Did an autostart on this vehicle. However when you unlock the doors now the courtesy lights don't come on (the lights under the sideview mirrors).
Anyone know what wire you can pulse that would turn these on? I know on the newer (04 or 05) taurus you pulse the door entry pad buttons and that would turn on the courtesy lights.
Profuse, if you pulse the domelight supervision that will also trigger the outside courtesy lights?
I didn't realize they would be on the same circuit.
Are you trying to have them on while in Remote Start mode? The BCM won't allow them on with ignition on..
Exterior Courtesy Lamps
The SEO 1 15 A fuse in the engine wiring harness junction block supplies battery positive voltage to both the exterior courtesy lamp relay switch contacts and the exterior courtesy lamp relay coil circuit. When the driver or passenger door is opened the body control module (BCM) energizes the exterior courtesy lamp relay. Current flow is from the exterior courtesy lamp relay to both outside rear view mirror exterior courtesy lamps. The exterior courtesy lamps are grounded at G200 and G203. When the remote function actuation (RFA) module receives a door unlock command from the remote function actuator transmitter, the RFA module will send a message to the body control module (BCM) indicating that an UNLOCK command has been received. The BCM must have inputs that indicate that the ignition switch is OFF, all the doors are closed. The BCM will activate the exterior courtesy lamp relay illuminating the power outside mirror exterior courtesy lamps. If the door locks are activated to the LOCK position, or if the ignition switch is turned to either the ON or RUN position the exterior courtesy lamps will deactivate immediately

So your saying it would be a huge pain in the butt to get them to come on.
The other thing is they don't even come on when I hit the "unlock" button even if it hasn't remote started. They only come on with the factory remote?
If the text from that GM page is true......... does opening either door turn on both exterior mirror lamps?
If that is true, it should be as easy as connecting the aftermarket unit's domelight supervision out put to one of the front doorpin wires at the BCM.
If you ground the dark green wire at the BCM position A8 on connector C2-(light blue plug at BCM) the courtesy light relay will energize- this is the wire that the BCM grounds when it decides to allow the lights on- So I would hook my domelight supervision out put wire from my remote start to this wire- Most R/S units have this capability- and let the timers inside the R/s control the outside and inside lights- The unlocking of the door should turn on the inside lights by itself- the domelight supervision output can then control the outside courtesy lights.........
