Which fuses are better to be used blade type or glass fuses? Need to fuse the wires of alarm sensors and pager and would like to know what should I get blade or glass fuses, also what amp rating?

glass or blade it dosent matter all do the same thing. For those sensors i would use like a 1 amp since they don't draw hardly any current. so you might get the glass, since they make those in a 1 amp. havent really seen any other fuses in a one amp except those

www.mcmaster-carr.com is the only place i have seen blade type 1amp.

So is it OK to use glass type fuses, i know Radio Shack has them.

Is trhere any disadvantage using glass type comparet to blade type?

Nope, as long as it is protecting what it supposed to, I guess the fuse holder would be more the question. The glass holders are kind of cheap and can get beat up, where the blade style are pretty decent.. It really up to you and the applications....

The mini blade type fuse holder has 16 gauge wire on both sides and was thinking if this is too thick to be soldered with 20 or 22 gauge wire that sensor came with, or this is not important. Glass type fuse holder has a thinner gauge wire size and also looks slimmer, are you saying that glass type fuse holder is less reliable-durable than blade type?

Another question: is it more preferable to fuse both 12V and ground wires or fusing ground does not make any difference just spending extra fuse+holder?

Is there any benefit of fusing the ground wire (in addition to 12V wire)?

Is there a downside of not fusing the ground wire?
