quick question guys...

Does the gnd when armed wire stay grounded while the alarm is going off or tripped?

Yes, ground whenever the alarm is on(even while sounding)...

Thanks. Im trying to figure out how to use that to activate another relay to drive a separate horn and piezo sirens while using the parking flash as a trigger.

I have seen some of the 'off brand' systems that do not provide a negative until the alarm is actually tripped (going off) even though they are listed as a ground when armed output.

according to the user manual on this alarm it says that you can use the orange ground when armed for the optional starter kill relay. so I guess it is a true ground when armed.

No it doesn't, it very well may only go to ground when the alarm is being triggered.  I have seen plenty of systems that claim it is a 'ground when armed' when it was in reality a 'ground when going off'.  Just test the output with a DMM, arm the system and see if the wire provides a ground.
