I tried to program the chdl2-pk to this car with no luck. Car will not enter program mode. I talked to the dealer and according to the tech you have to use a programer to program anything to this car, no matter if you have 2 ignition keys or not. anybody heard of this?

I have had some Chryslers that I just could not get to program a new key.

The dealer telling you that it is only a dealer programmable option is just wrong. It explains in the owner's manual the process required for the owner to add their own key to the vehicle.

I believe that if the car has had 4 keys programmed to it, it does have to be programmed at the dealership though. Maybe that particular car already had 4 keys programmed to it.

Its possible its had 4 keys programmed to it, don't know. I'll ask her when she calls me back. I read the owners manual in this car and it didn't mention programming additional keys, I thought it was odd. It stands true chrysler blows........

That's a rebodied Mitsubishi Eclipse, and not a real Chrysler. Even though it looks like a Sentry Key on the outside, it isn't. I'd doubt a Chrysler bypass will program to it.

Also, you can program your own keys on 2003-up Mitsubishi without a scan tool; the procedure is in the owner's manual.

I would guess that you could program a blank Mitsubishi key to that car, but I haven't tried.

Chris is right. The Stratus in 04 came in two bodies, one was a coupe and was a Mitsubishi body while the 4 door was the Chrysler Sebring body. The 4 door can use the standard Chrysler bypass kits like the 555C while the coupe can't.

I thought something was suspicous, everything closely resembled the few mitsubishi's I have worked on. On programming the key, I went through the owners guide pretty thoroughly and I couldn't find how to program a key. If anybody could post it up that knows how to program a key it would be great.  Thanx for the info guys.
