This is my first remote start install, so don't flame me too bad.
Installing a Astrostart & DEI 556L module on my 1998 Pontiac Grand Am (passlock 1). Does the 556L module get installed in series/inline with the R/S, or is it paralleled? Meaning, are there any connections that go from R/S into bypass module and then to vehicle (series), or can I hook up R/S to vehicle first, and then install 556? (parallel)

The directions sound like its all parallel, but I just wanted to make sure first...
Thanks,
Tim

Both, but you cannot really classify it as a series or parallel circuit. Think of it purely as what it really is, an interface between the starter and the vehicle. It is a device that is transparent to the vehicle under normal operating conditions, that tells the vehicle what the vehicle needs to hear when asked to start by remote control.

Your R/S will not operate until both the starter AND interface are hooked up. Does not really matter which one is installed first.
