you have to remove the radio for two wire connectiuons. 2nd ingition, Dk Green. and the passlock wires. pretty easy to get to. PITA ass to solder tho. all other wires are easily found under the dash, under steering wheel. tach isnt bad.grab it at the ecm. PURPLE / white

I don't see how you can do the job without removing the radio. It's not that hard to remove it. Go for it!

I wouldn't cut away any plastic on the dasboard, but to each his own.

no reason to cut any plastic at all..... you can unplug the 2 harness from the ign switch itself and pull them out thru the radio hole... solder all your connections and then plug them back into the switch.... quick and easy.....

Don't forget-- DO NOT unplug the radio let it hang--- If it has theftlock- you'll need to find the owner's code to re-activate-- I don't even chance any of them- just let them hang.............

Generally speaking, the GM data-bus controlled radios can be removed and replaced without triggering Theftlock. They can read the VIN through the data bus and won't cause a problem if they're replaced into the same vehicle. If you're in doubt, the information will be in the owner's manual.

Provided they still have the owners manual posted_image

YOU'LL KNOW BY THE CONNECTORS ON THE BACK OF THE RADIO.... IF IT HAS THE OLDER 21 PIN HARNESS IT HAS tHEFLOCK... if it has the new 24 pin harness then it is a class II style radio and will not lock, because it looks at the VIN as a theftcode......
