Is there any way to disarm the factory alarm system on a 2000 volkswagon beetle when installing a remote starter?

According to DEI the alarm will arm and disarm with lock and unlock only. You could pulse the unlock with the FAD output then have the system re-lock the doors when the starter output engages.

True, but after it starts with remote the door locks will not work, then when you try to unlock with key the alarm gos off.

What 12V is saying is if you pulse unlock before start you will be disarming the alarm, then if you pulse the lock wire after it starts it will relock the doors but not rearm. Then you can use the key to get in....
