99 GMC SIERRA DIESEL TACH

HAS ANYONE DONE A REMOTE START ON A 99 GMC FULL SIZE 6.5 LTR DIESEL (OLD BODY STYLE),I REQUIRE THE RIGHT TACH WIRE .WHAT I HAVE  GOT IS WHITE WIRE AT ALTERNATOR BUT AUTO START WORKS INTERMITTENTLY .IT DOES NOT START IN THE MORNINGS AND I HAVE TRIED TACHLESS AS WELL AND EXTENDING CRANKING TIME  TOO.

ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED.THANKS.

YES THERE IS A DELAY(SET TO DIESEL MODE-12 SEC DELAY)

see thats likely the problem.  Glow plugs will be on for different lengths of time depending on the temperature.   Most remote newer remote starts hook up to the wait to start light.  This way, when the wait to start light shuts off, the truck starts.  The problem with using a timed delay is that the time is never right.  Either it is too long and glow plugs cool off before it starts or it is too short and the glow plugs aren't warmed up enough.  Its impossible for it to work properly.

The reason I asked if the truck fires up or not is I am trying to see where your problem is.  If your truck actually starts but holds the starter on, then your problem will be your tach wire.  If it doesn't even start (just cranks over) then the problem is NOT the tach wire and is most likely the glow plugs or a bad ignition wire connection.

YES I THINK WHAT YOURE SAYING MAKES SENSE .THE TRUCK DOES NOT START IN THE MORNINGS.TRIES A SECOND TIME AND THEN ENGINE SHUTS OFF.IN THE DAY TIME THERE IS NO PROBLEMS ,TRUCK STARTS UP ON FIRST TRY EVERY TIME.

IT IS A BLACK WIDOW 400 STAND ALONE REMOTE START.IT DOES NOT HAVE A GLOW PLUG INPUT WIRE,JUST A TACH WIRE WHICH IS SAID TO DO BOTH.YES THE TRUCK DOES START GOOD WITH THE KEY.
