02 ranger won’t start with rs

I have an 02 Ranger Fx4 that I am trying to install a Hornet 563T into. The alarm part of the unit works fine, but if I try to start it nothing happens, no lights on the dash board, no parking light flash, nothing. I swapped it out with a known good unit (I put the same one into my '01 Taurus last week) and it is doing the same thing.

I have tried bypassing the hood switch, bypassed the neutral safety switch and still the same behavior. The truck starts and runs fine with the key for what it's worth. Does anyone have any idea what the problem may be?

I should have also mentioned, I checked all the fuses and made sure there was proper ground and power everywhere it should be. I also double checked all the ignition wires with my MM to make sure I was in the correct ones. Everything seems to be right...

Do you have the correct brake wire?? Cause if you do not have the right brake wire, the RS part will not react at all. What PATS bypass are you using???

You have one ignition and two accessory wires as well as you have PATS on the vehicle to bypass. Make sure that the unit has output on the IGN & ACC wires when remote started. If you replaced the CPU with a known good CPU, then it's your wiring that is the problem not the CPU. Post the wires that you have wired up so we can help you better.

Thank you for the replies, here are the answers:

I do have the correct brake wire connected. I have tested it, and it shows 12volts with the brake pedal depressed.

Here are the wires that I have connected:

1: All my power wires are connected to the yellow wires in the ignition harness

2: The RED / lt. blue wire is split and connected to PURPLE on the starter side and GREEN on the key side.

3: The gray / YELLOW wire is connected to ORANGE

4: The BLACK/ lt. green is connected to PINK/WHITE and my unit programmed to act as ACC instead of IGN.

5: The tach is connected to the TAN / YELLOW at the PCM and successfully learned the signal.

Again, I checked all the power and ground wires to be sure they are correct. On the 563T there is a RED / WHITE wire on the relay pack that the manual says "connect if you need more power". I have to assume that there is no reason for me to need more power to the unit, but how would you know?

Forgot to answer the bypass question:

I am using the DEI 1100F bypass, and from what I can tell it has programmed fine... Of course I wouldn't know for sure since the vehicle won't even try to start. :(

If you don't even get a parking light flash when attempting to activate the remote start, then the problem must be either the brake wire input, NSS input or hood switch input. If there's voltage on the brake wire input, ground on the hood switch or no ground on the NSS input then the remote start won't activate.

Those are the first things that I checked, and it is all in order. I will go over it all again here in a few and post back... Anymore ideas?   Keep 'em coming! haha

Where is your ground and did you test it with your power wire input ? Check the fuses in your main battery connections as well. Did you program the remote controls ?

Well the results are in: I'm an idiot.

I had the NSS connected with the wrong wire. There are two BLACK/ white wires and I had the incorrect one.

I got smart and used the shutdown diagnostics to determine that it was in fact the NSS and found it right away.

Stupid mistake, but simple...
