I have installed a few remote start systems that have required a transponder bypass module. I have gone with the DEI 556U and things have worked well. I just hate telling people they need to have a key permanently installed their vehicle. Would anyone be able to tell me a no key required alternative? I also have trouble finding places to actually purchase the items. I hate to say it but Ebay is my primary source. I have found a DEI 556H that says no key required, but I do not know if this is a unit that will reliable replace the 556U.
Any information you guys can give me would be great, also if you could recommend some other sources for the module would be great as well.

all of the major brands make a bypass that requires no key, and most of them will work fine.........i still use the old school setup, cuz the parts are cheaper and i havent had any major issues. Just a thought, but have you thought about breaking or grinding down the key that you are putting in the module, after it has been programmed.

The nice thing about the 556U is it works on practically all cars. There are other alternatives, but your gonna need to have a lot more stock. The 556H is Honda only, the 555C is Chrysler, 556S is Ford, 457G is GM, and so forth. Tho we carry most modules, i rarely use anything other than 3 basic ones, the 556U , the 547G, and the 556S...

Check out www.bypasskit.com. i use their modules on a regular basis and they are very reliable. you can get these modules to bypass the transponder and on certain newer cars, control door locks, parking lights, power sliding doors, dome supervision, factory arm/disarm, trunk release etc. all through one data wire on the diagnostic plug. grinding the key is a good idea, although you have to remember your ruining an $80 key. The customer usually likes to have the peace of mind that they have a spare even thought its not that excessible to them. When i use the key in a box, i just wrap the metal part of the key with electrical tape and try to put it in a higher, hidden spot that is not easily accessible or visible. its not as safe as grinding it, but it does take a thief more time to actually unwrap 30 wraps of tape. That way the customer can always get the key back if they want it.

I would really like to find a no key required bypass kit for a 2002 Audi A6. Bypasskits.com does not list a NKR kit for this vehicle. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

sorry bro, ive yet to find an accessible keyless transponder module for VW and AUDI. Astroflex listed they make one, but when i ordered it, they said its discontinued . Audi and VW generally need to see stronger transponder signal then north american and import vehicles so i wouldn't suggest using a cheap key box. stick with the d.e.i. one. bypasskits.com pretty much makes modules for about any car with an immobilizer. for some reason vw n audi seem to be neglected by every company  ....the audi does have a nice little plastic valet key that most people don't mind loosing though.
