Well i have a Viper Alarm in a 95 Mercury Villager; it was bought with this alarm, but it does not work, so far a have checked the hood pin, and the keychain, when buttons are pushed, works because the light flashes.

Im Wondering if anyone can help me out with how i can fix this, or some ways i can test it to see what is wrong with it; i have seeked professionals, but they want to rob me of my money.

Thanks alot

look for a push button valet switch. its usually mounted somewhere under the driver side dash, in the kickpanel area most likely. when you find it, put the key to the 'on' position and hold the valet switch until the parking lights flash or you hear a siren chirp. the alarm might have been in 'valet mode'.

with the doors, hood and trunk closed, press the lock button on the remote. wait about 30 seconds and the open the door. if the parking lights start flashing then you know the alarm is working. since you think the alarm isn't working, im assuming the siren isnt connected. at that point check the siren and see if someone cut the siren wire to silence it.
