I am installing a PYTHON 700 in a 1997 GMC P/U. and need help on a few issues.

1. The alarm says it has built in relays for lock/unlock but I can't get them to work.  Where do I tie in the lock/unlock wires from the alarm to the lock/unlock wires of the truck and what color are they? What colors from the alarm wires do I use? Do I need an additional relay and do I cut the wires or tap into them?

2. this truck has the delayed dome light so when you arm the alarm, it will go off unless you wait for the dome lite to go off.

I appreciate any help you can give!

Thanks in advance. M. Lawrence   michael.lawrence@satellitegpscentral.com

If your truck had factory keyless entry then you need to interface using this diagram. If it did not have factory keyless entry then you need to use this diagram.

If you look at page 12 of your manual it lists the wire color and corresponding relay terminal number. Just use the proper relay terminal number in conjunction with whichever diagram you need. Your 85 and 86 connections are made internally on the alarm.

little helpful info perhaps. directly above the gas pedal ought to be a "little black box". the factory lock relays. lt. blue and white, positive trigger. it was there today on the '97 chevy silverado i did today that didn't have keyless entry

I did find the factory relays but I still cant get the lock/unlock to work.  I used to install DEI products years ago when there were no on board relays. I guess this new stuff is so easy but yet I cant figure it out. When arming and disarming the alarm, I get no response from any of the alarm lock/unlock wires. no pulse no nothing.  What to do? When hitting lock/unlock on the switch, it goes to 12 volts but rests at like .2vdc  Fuse is good. Now what?

If your truck is indeed positive triggers you wire it like:

Purple = Fused +12V
PURPLE / Black = Fused +12V
Blue/Black = Unlock Output to truck
GREEN/ Black = Lock Output to truck

The WHITE/ Black and BROWN / Black get no connection.
