OK, I have a problem with the remote starter ( Python 1400)I just had installed. Before I take it back I would like to know what the problem might be in case they give me some lame excuse. The problem is, if I remote start the car after using the remote to lock it, it will trigger the factory alarm. So, every morning what I have to do is 1) unlock the car 2) remote start the car 3) then have to lock the car again. One more thing, if the car is remote started, when I unlock it the horn will beep twice. If the car is not remote started, the horn will not beep. Not really a big deal but why would it do this? Hopefully that wasn't too, using. Thanks in advance

You basically answered your own question. The car requires that you unlock before starting then relock once engine is running to disarm the OEM security. If the doorlocks were hooked up from the Python to the car then it should be doing this automatically when you rmote start. It's obvious that they weren't and it might cost extra.

the door locks are hooked up. Everything seems to work correctly except for that one issue. I was told from another forum that the factory alarm disarm may not be connected. could that be the problem?

yes. they did not hook-up your factory disarm and arm wires. since you didn't say that your oem alarm goes off when you unlock your doors with the remote, im assuming the arming and disarming of your oem alarm works with your doorlocks. when you lock your door the vehicle locks AND arms the alarm and when you unlock, it unlocks and disarms. take it back, it shouldnt be a big deal to fix the problem, all they have to do is connect two wires...and even if it is, they should have done it anyways. as for your horn....try honking it when then car is off. your horn may only work while the vehicle's ignition is on and thats why's it only works when the car is remote started. since you didn't specify what car you have, i cant tell you exactly.
