I wonder if anyone can help me?

My mate has a clifford concept 300 and i am designing a circuit to run some stuff off one of the accessory channels (ie: when he presses a button on the remote, my circuit comes into play) but i need to know:

What is the voltage out of these things? i have been told it's +3v - if so, can you ground it to the car body or not?

I would have thought it was either +12v or just a ground switch.

Cheers.

Well, the aux output from Concept 300 are 500mA Negative output and it required a relay to hookup to your circuit.

the clifford website hasn't got the concept 300 diagrams on there. My mate said he measured the voltage out and it was +3v so why would this be if it is a negative switch?

If it is a negative switch, do i take a +12v supply through the relay coil back into this aux switch and use the relay contacts for the circuit???

Cheers lads.
