Have anyone installed a remote start on a 2002 Escalade using the 556LW. If so can you post the info for this install and how you wired the 2 wires to the keysense wire. Did it require you to cut the keysense wire?

You do not have to interface the 'keysense' wire with that piece in your truck. Yes you do have to cut the passlock wire for the 556L to work. If you want to do a remote start without the need to cut the wire, pick up a GMBP. ------------- Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

Thanks guys for the reply, but since I already bought the 556LW I want to go with it. I read that the 2002 Escalade had a passlock II whats confusing on the diagram is it says a yellow wire connect to the key side resistance in and the BLACK / YELLOW to the vehicle side resistance out. Is that the passlock wire they referring to and if so what color and where can I find that wire? Also is this a good reference below?

Notes: NOTE: This vehicle has the passlock II immobilizer system that, when adding a remote start, must be interfaced with. Use DEI part 555t or 555L. *1 The BCM is located behind the drivers side of the dash. The plugs on the BCM face towards the rear of the vehicle. The parking lights are in pin A5 and the headlights are in pin A11. *2 Use tan for the drivers door located in pin B4 of the purple plug, the passenger doors are a blue/white in the lt. blue plug, and the rear hatch pin is a pink/black in the lt. blue plug. You must diode isolate these wires. *3 ECM is located near the battery, down low, between the fender and the fan under the black plastic cover. On the 4.3L, the tach wire is at pin 20 in the connector labeled 'red', and VSS wire is at pin 3 in the connector labeled 'black'. On the 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L, the tach wire is located at pin 10 in the 'red' connector, and VSS wire is located in pin 50 of the 'red' connector. *4 Also found in the purple plug of the BCM. *5 Diesel wait to start wire is dk. blue (-) located at the instrument cluster.

Yes that is one of the passlock wires. You need to follow the passlock wires from the keycylinder down and there should be a yellow wire that you will cut in two. You then connect the yellow wire from the 556l to the keycylinder side of the wire that you cut and the yellow/black from the 556l to the other side of the wire that you cut. It is very important that you solder these wires as you do not want to introduce any extra resistance to these connections or the passlock may not work. The reason that the 457g or the GMBP are recommended is because you do not have to cut any of the passlock wires for the modules to work. The other benefit is that if the bypass module fails, the vehicle will still start with the key. Also GM has had alot of problems with the passlock system and I would strongly recommend going with the 457g just to avoid having to cut any wires on an already weak piece of the vehicle.

Good advice. I will go and get the 457G instead. How about the wiring info above. Is it accurate?

That wiring doesnt seem right to me. Try this link, it is for a Silverado but it should be the same, and as always test every wire with a dmm before connecting to verify the function. https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=62700

I agree, the wiring above has a few mistakes. Go with the diagram f150 gave, it's dead on. Get your tach wire behind the instrument cluster, white wire.

My other question is after looking at the diagram from https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=62700 I saw the Power lock and unlock wires are on a brown plug at the BCM, do you know what pin these wire are at?

Lock and unlock will be pins A4 and A3. You can also get them in a plug in the fuse panel coming from the drivers door.

The install went well. I still need assistance with how to find the factory alarm disable wire to connect the factory disarm wire from the my alarm/remote start, because at times the factory alarm seem to arm it self and when the door is opened the factory alarm sounds.
