Fairly quick and easy question, I hope.

Will the ignition bypass module with door lock interface allow the use of the door lock interface when the ignition bypass is not in use/programmed?

I have a Chrysler LHS to install a remote start in, but the customer got the ignition bypass/door lock unit even though the vehicle does not have the factory immobilizer, it has a black ignition key. Local shops do not have stock of the door lock interfaces and can't tell me if this unit will work as a door lock interface only.

Thanks in advance,

Greg

which module are you planning on using? There are more than one.

PCHDL2-PK2 I believe it is.

Which leads me to another question - with the starter2 connection, does that mean I won't need to wire in that circuit from the remote start unit? Or is that also tied to the factory immobilizer system?

You dont need a module for this car if the car doesn't have the immobilizer for the key. The doorlocks/disarm/arm wires are at the BCM Module in the driver kick panel. The Chrysler LHS only went up to the year 2002. Which starter 2 wire are you talking about? The car has 2 ignition wires that will have to be connected in order for a proper remote start, not 2 starter wires

I see that I don't need the starter2 connection now.

As for the module, the customer supplied it so I might as well use it for the door locks and trunk release instead of messing with relays and resistors. That was the reason for my question - will the module work as a door lock interface only without having to program the ignition bypass portion?

If the module lists that specific car and the year on the instruction sheet then yes, it should work for the lock and trunk.
