I second on the PKH3 from trilogix, (or you can use 556H.)
the 555U and 556U require for you to give up a key. (not recommended) You can go ahead and use the 556U if you want to leave your key in the box. (mmuch cheaper to get a keyless type, plus much safer)
the 555I will get you nowhere

I don't mind leaving the key in the car. So I have the 556U, is okay then to use it with say the audiovox 2-way APS-997? Thanks.

I'm about to install the Hornet 564T remote start alarm on my Acura RSX 02. However, the car has factory alarm. I located the brain under the wheel. Can I just unplug the brain to make the unit stop working and proceed to install the new alarm? Or how should I go about this? Thanks.

There should be a pink/blue at the factory alarm that will disarm the system and will also unlock doors. I wouldnt unplug the system though.

So where would I connect this pink/blue wire to , in order to disarm it ?

nevermind that pink/blue i listed above.....at the module there will be a white wire, this will be your factory disarm. This needs to be hooked up to the h2/6 lt. GREEN/ black wire on your 564t. This will disarm the alarm on unlock and remote start......if it happens to get armed.

HI, just finished installing the DEI hornet 564T alarm with the12volt's wire guidance. After I arm the system, I have to hit the glass ver very hard to turn on the alarm. I adjusted the stinger doubleguard shock sensor 504 to max ( button turn closewise correct?) but it doesn't help at all. Am I missing something? The shock came with 4 wires, but only 3 are used. The green wire is in a loop with the blue wire?? Make sense? Help please .

How did you mount the sensor? The DEI impact sensors actually work best when zip tied to a harness, and NOT mounted to a solid surface.

Are you wating at least 20 seconds after you arm the alarm to test it?
Also, if the shock sensor is triggered 3 times in a short period of time the alarm will ignore that sensor for 1 hour. Turning the ignition to ON and then back to OFF will reset it. Disarming and Arming the alarm will not reset that 1 hour time-out.

Thanks for the inputs. I did waited more than 20 seconds. I mounted the shock sensor on the frame near the driver's side using two side mounting tape. I will give the harness mounting a try tomorrow. What surprise me is older viper alarms and my Audiovox alarm is very very sensitive. If you hit the window slightly or kick the front wheel, the alarm goes off. Here, my 564T shock sensor is a joke so far, even with the sensitivity level at the highest setting. I am just wondering if I happened to get a defective sensor, or if the newer DEI sensors are very reduce in

do you want a two stage shock sensor or single stage only? that wire that isnt cut is for warn away. if you cut it and connect it to the other wire you will have warn away. also reposition the sensor not on the frame but on a wire loom like everyone else suggested.
