I have installed a remote starter in my 2001 silverado. I do not have power windows or locks but the truck is eqipped with passlock II from the factory.  I used the GMBD to get around it . The hood switch was the only option I did not use. The starter works great but twice since the installation the battery has run dead.  Is there something in the system that I am not aware of that can be running the battery down ?

What brand/model remote starter?

Now that you have drained the battery 2 times, I would highly suggest replacing it. Once you kill a battery, it will never be as good as it was before.

I would suggest doing a current draw test at the battery when the truck is NOT remote started. Then pull all the fuses to the remote start and repeat the current draw test. Then post your results.

The remote is from Bulldog Security  (RS-700)  The battery is less than 6 months old. Being under the weather and already out of work most of this week I may wait now till weather breaks a bit and I get fully recovered. I will give it a go and let you know.  Thank You !
