I was wondering where would the best place be to mount a dei 508d motion sensor. It is going into a 1996 s-10 ext. cab. I also have the glass break sensor and i was wondering where the best place for the microphone would be.

Mount the 508D in the middle of the car just below radio under the carpet and The glass sensor will probably fit right above the sterring wheel. But then again you can always look for other spots. Just make sure not to mount the 508d behind metal, it will go trought almost anything except metal.

Good Luck.

Also which wires do i hook the 508d up to, I know where the constant and ground go to but where do the first and second stage outputs go to?

i would recommed using the GWA wire for the ground, a fused 12v source for the 12v and then (assuming you also have a DEI alarm) tap into the shock sensor wires. green to green, blue to blue.

Or, newer DEI models have a multiplexed wire, that you can simply join the 2 508D green and blue wires together and then connect to the single multiplex wire.

the glass sensor mic should be in open air, meaning the diaphram (face) of the mic should be unobstructed. You could neatly mount it to a dash panel like an LED.
