Hi, is this a good way to wire a starter kill relay (diagram found online)? do you think the starter will bump for a second since the 12V comes on at the same time the key is turned? I am just trying to make it simplier.

That is the proper way to wire up a starter kill circuit. No, the starter will not 'bump' when wired like that.

Key side of the starter wire to 87a, the car side to 30.  12v to 86, ground while running to 85. Take your remote start connection to the CAR SIDE of your starter wire "past" the relay.

Thanks. I got that, I just wanted to be sure I could connect 86 on the relay to the key side starter wire. I don't want a momentary starter enguagement as the relay clicks over.

I should have looked at the whole page and maybe have read some of that, all I looked at was the picture showing the relay. I am with Hymer on this one....Solder all of your connections! Scotchlocks and T-Taps are NOT the way to do it.

As suggested hook remote starter-start wire on the starter motor side.

One advantage of using the separate 12V Ign to switch the relay instead of the start signal is that it's better for the relay to be cold switched; the contacts will tend to last longer, and it'd be more reliable.

If the start signal is used as in the first diagram, the relay gets hot switched, because power is already present on the contacts by the time it's closed. Probably not a big deal, since the relay can handle it, but it might make a difference over the long haul.

You mention antigrind relay in the topic, you can also connect 85 to the RS statis wire to make the relay do two duties-antigrind and starter kill.

Oops- never mind what I mentioned about the hot switching, it's using the normally closed contacts, and a (-)starter interrupt signal instead of a ground while running signal. Relay should normally remain off during regular operation-
