i was wonder on my 2002 explorer can a add on remote start work with the factory alarm my explorer came with. If it does please tell me how

Of course you can. Most remote starts are capable of arming and disarming MOST factory security systems.  (there are some exceptions)

Yours....no problem. What are you going to install? Don't forget the transpoder bypass!

i was meaning i have a add on remote start i want the factory alarm tigger the add on remote start

Yes. Almost every manufacturer makes one. Look into the Audiovox AS-9075A, DEI Valet 561R, to start.

But, you're limited to the range of the factory remote. Perfect for some people, and bad for others.

If you live in a single-family house with the driveway close by, you'll be fine.

But if you work in an office building or large factory, you won't be able to remote-start the car before leaving work. You're not going to be able to remote-start the car from the supermarket or mall, either.
