hello guys,

i am installing a remote starter  on a 96 dodge caravan tomorrow . i know that i need to unlock the doors(through a resistor) in order to start it up.

i want to start it up with doors locked so i have to trick it. please check for me if this is the right way.

my unit, XS-900S has on board relays for door locks.

so here it goes:

a wire goes from lock wire to pin 30 on relay(why is it the lock and not unlock?)

85 on relay get tied to starter/crank wire on unit

87 goes to ground.

the security bypass wire(-) from unit goes to pin 86.

is this correct. shall i just stick to unlocking the car and starting it up(disarm security if it has it)? please advise.

PS: xs-900s has a wire for security bypass and a wire to provide - for rellay kill.

no wire to send ground when remote start.

thanks for the help in advance.

jay.

You don't need to unlock the doors before R/S

If your unit has built in door lock relays, you should have 6 wires from the unit.

2 should be labled N.O. These will go to ground

2 should be labled N.C.  You will not use these.

2 will be labled common. These are the wires that go to wht/lt grn. at the bcm. Put your resitors in line at the end or in the middle of these wires.
