If I install a DEI Valet 561R Remote Start/Keyless Entry into my 2004 Nissan Xterra, assuming everything is wired correctly, will the Factory Alarm arm/disarm with the new DEI FOB or will I still have to use the Xterras OEM FOB ?? Thanks, Gene

I am pretty sure that with your Nissan, the alarm is armed/disarmed with 1) lock/unlock, and/or 2) when the car is started. I'm assuming you connected the lock/unlock wires from the DEI Valet to the Nissan SECU lock/unlock wires .. or the lock/unlock wires at the nissan door. If that is the case, you're fine. ------------- The search function is your friend.

I didn't actually install anything yet, but if what you said is the case, then I shouldn't need to connect the Factory alarm disarm/rearm wires from the DEI Valet ???

Use yellow/red for disarm-unlock (double pulse). And yellow for lock-arm. Both are found at the SECU NEG(-) pulse.

So then I have to connect the Valet 561r Lock & unlock wires and factory alarm Arm & Disarm wires to the above quoted wires? Thanks!!

Yes -- you can hook the Valet's LOCK wire AND ARM wires both (i.e. tie both of these Valet wires to the one nissan wire at the secu) to the Nissan's Lock-Arm wire (SECU Pin 11) and you can hook the Valet UNLOCK and DISARM wires both to the Nissan's UNLOCK-DISARM wire (SECU Pin 4) best of luck ------------- The search function is your friend.

Thanks, but there seems to be a discrepancy, according to a couple other wiring info's, the 04 xterra has 2 ignition wires and only 1 accessory wire. The 2nd ignition wire is RED / yellow.

Its OK to connect the two red 12v/30amp wires of the 561R to the one green wire at the ignition harness in the column ??

Yes it is OK to connect both reds to that wire. That wire is what feeds all of those circuits in the ignition harness when you turn the key.
Also, for your reference I am pretty certain that the factory remotes will operate fine when the vehicle is running. Which means you could hook up the 561R without the need to interface with the door locks. You could use the WHITE/ red positive activation input to the door lock actuator's positive lock leg. Then use the factory transmitter, pressing lock 2 or 3 times (menu programmable) to activate and deactivate the starter. The range on the factory Nissan remotes is normally pretty good but the DEI range will be substantially better.
