Help with 4Runner tailgate window remote!!

Hi,

I'm a first-timer looking for a little help from the pros.  I've done multiple car stereo, speaker and amplifier systems, but never a keyless entry.  I am installing an Omega Executive 3.0 into a 1995 Toyota 4Runner, and had a few questions:

1.  Do I need to purchase an additional relay to connect "dome light supervision" to my car? (the place I bought the keyless entry system from claims I don't, but I am a little suspicious)

2.  Where do I find the door trigger wire to connect to the brain?

3.  Is there a simple way to use the optional button on the remote to lower the tail-gate window down?  This would be very handy, but I have no idea if it is possible or not.

• This depends on the Omega system & if it has a (-) output Illumination wire that can support a ground signal. I would use a relay anyways even if it was a (-) trigger from the unit.

• BLACK/ white or black|-  |2 pin plug top fusebox

3.  Is there a simple way to use the optional button on the remote to lower the tail-gate window down?  This would be very handy, but I have no idea if it is possible or not.

• You would need a power window control module to do this. It is possible but you would need to be able to pulse the wire that controls the window for the full duration of the window up or down process. A PWCM would be perfect for this application.

BTW, how many aux output does an Omega Executive 3.0 has?  If you have two aux output, then you can hookup the tail-gate windows up and down.  If you have one aux output, then you can either choose up or down.  

Just by looking at the Toyota 4 Runner, you will required to insect the key in the Ignition switch and turn it over to roll the tailgate Window up or down.  You can insect the key at the tailgate keyswitch and roll the Window up or down without power up the Ignition switch.

You required a relay to roll it up or down.  You will have to run a wire to the motor controller beside the rear domelight.  It's a negative trigger for up or down.   If you keep pushing the aux button from the remote and it will roll the rear tailgate window up or down.

Relay configuration for up or down.

Pin 87 and 85 to ground, pin 86 fused 3 amp, pin 30 to tailgate window wire up or down, and pin 87a do not use.

I've done plenty of window rolldows on Sequoias and newer 4Runners, with just one relay, and no window module.  I haven't worked on a '95, but if you do a little testing and see how it works, it may be possible.

Also, for example, the switch on a Sequoia is positive trigger, not negative----the basic interface is still of the same idea, but a few connections are different and the diodes are in different places.

Basically, here's what do to with your car.

1.  Locate window switch; get it apart.

2.  With ignition switch on, test the functions of the switch.

3.  With the ignition on, use FUSED jumper leads to apply power or ground to the switch's wires; see if this makes the window move.  If it doesn't, either you're testing it wrong or you'll need a window module.......but if it does work, you're in luck.

4.  If it does work, now go to the ignition switch; there are two ignition wires there.  Again using fused jumper leads, power up one of these wires and then the other-----determine which wire enables the dashboard window switch.

5.  Once you've determined the circuit's operation, make a setup similar to what I mention in that other post, but modify it to fit your car.  Post back with results/questions.
