I'm looking into making a circiut that will basically do something when it sees a certain amount of pulses.

For example, like pressing your car FOB twice to turn on headlights or pressing it three times to open the garage.

I want to have the circuit see an input from the door look trigger. So depending on how many times you trigger the door lock, this will determine what the circiut will activate.

I hope you understand what I trying to convey. I just wanted to know what I would need to build such a circiut and how to build it.

PAC makes a module called a TR-7. This module can be programmed for multiple pulse trigger inputs to a pulsed, latched or timed output. Be aware that you'll most likley need one or more relays to turn on what ever accessory you are going to use.
