wiring a switch for 2 wire actuators

i just installed a dei keyless entry/remote start and i also installed some 2-wire door lock actuators. my question is how would i wire up a single switch to the 2-wire actuators? i just wanted one switch mounted in the dash somewhere maybe in the middle. i was told by spal that their door lock switched would not work for the 2-wire actuators and they also said i might be able to use one of their power window switches. please help if possible any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are triggering relays with the negative outputs from the keyless module then you would just need to supply a negative trigger to activate the relays with a switch. However if the keyless entry you installed has internal relays there are a couple of things you could do. One would be to get switches that would accommodate that wiring as Spal has suggested. The other would be to pick up 2 relays and wire them like what is shown in this diagram. Just use a double throw switch to provide the negative pulses to activate the relays.

yeah im using 2 external relays wired to the blue and green wires coming from the keyless for the actuators so how would i wire up a switch to make this work?

so from the way it looks in the picture you dont have to run any power or a ground to the switch is that right? whayt kind of switch would be the best for the 2-wire actuators?

Wiring in a switch that provides a negative pulse to the blue and green wires from the DEI system that control the relays will work fine.

If you would have bought the 5-wire actuator kit- ($32 for 4 doors) you have no need for a dash mounted switch- the mere movement of the manual lock will lock/unlock all other doors- the switch is built into the actuator to control it all-- likewise if you use the key to unlock one door- the others automatically unlock- and it also gives you a negative pulse input to be controlled by any alarm or remote start device- great little kit-

My first actuactor install- I was like you- actually went to a junkyard and bought a switch to mount on the dash- until I found out I did not need it-- The kit did it all-- already-- sometimes we "think" too hard without exploring all the options first...................

well i am not trying to use something from a junkyard i am trying to figure out which switch to use from spal. i dont think i can use a door lock switch i am thinking i might have to use a power window switch.

A door lock switch would work fine. Just make sure that the switch rests at nothing and pulses to whatever the supply is when pushed. In your case you need a SPDT switch, but a DPDT switch would work and only require 1/2 the switch. You only need to pulse the green and blue wires with a negative to activate the locks, just like the RKE is doing.
