Guys.

Need quick help! Car is pulled all apart and I can't find this damn thing.
I have a 2003 F250 Crew Cab Diesel, 6.0

I don't have the factory keyless because there is no VSM module next to gas pedal on firewall or anywhere near it.

I DO have the dome delay, where when I leave the car, the dome stays on for like 30 sec. I am trying to find the GEM so I can diode isolate the door wires. I CANNOT FIND ANY SIGNS OF A GEM. I have the fuse panel under the dash out and there is nothing around it. Next to has pedal on the firewall, the only 2 things are the crash sensor (located behing a plastic panel between bottom of dash and carpet) and what looks like a relay (black box with just 5 wires going to it).

PLEASE HELP! The car is apart and I need to get to church tomorrow!

THANKS!!!!!

Thanks for the reply.

I have that. the problem is that with the dome light delay, once the door is closed, that still shows + so if I arm the alarm, it will trigger the alarm.

what kind of alarm(make and model #) of alarm are you putting in.  Most alarms that are made now can handle the delay in the dome light.  Post your model number up and maybe someone can tell you how to avoid the domelight delay using the wire shown above by profuse.

oh, also you don't need to find the gem/vsm or whatever you where looking for.  The remaining wires you need are in the drivers kick panel, and the door harness. so you can start putting back together some of your car.

I have a Code Alarm CA-670. It doesn't have the bypass but I have the DEI unit that has a timed delay (forgot the part number). I suppose I could use that and set it so it connects the door trigger AFTER the dome lights go off?

I came across this post: https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=4863&KW=gem+location&PN=0&tpn=2

Here it talks about diode isolating the door pins. Anyone know where these individual door pins go? It also talks about using a DEI 502T and attaching to wires on each side of the car that show gnd when the door is closed and open when a door is open. Anyone done this? I have found the wires they are talking about.

Anyone?

I also have the DEI 528T Pulse timer. Am I going to put this on the between the door trigger and the alarm or what? Or am I not going to use it?

PLEASE HELP ME OUT HERE GUYS!!!

THANKS!!!!

Oh, and IF I end up using the 528T, andI hook up the 528T and set it to delay until after the dome light goes off, won't that also delay if someone breaks in? Or is there another way to do it?
