Hey guys,

I have a compustar 2 way spread spectrum alarm system in my 97 Honda Civic and my siren died last week, so I picked up another from the local stereo shop. Unfortunately the new siren is different from the old one and I don't know which wires to hook up (the new siren has 4, the old one had 3).

As far as I know this system uses a negative trigger for the alarm, and there are 3 wires that used to go to my old siren, one that meters no voltage and high resistence (id assume thats the trigger wire), one that is 12v constant and one that is ground.

Here is a picture of my new siren:

The wire colors are yellow, blue, red, and black.

Could someone tell me which wires get hooked up to what (ie power, ground, then that trigger wire)? I'd assume that ground is black and power is red, but stranger things have happened.

Also does it matter which order its hooked up in? (in regards to when the trigger wire is hooked up).

It's a shame really, the local shop said they were too busy to help, even though it's something that would only take a minute to explain.
Thank you for the help.

Yes I know one is +12v one is ground, one is (+) trigger and one is (-) trigger... but I was hoping someone had seen this siren before and knew what the pinout was.

All is says on the siren is "Taiwan Patented" on the back. It's a battery backedup siren that comes with two keys... yes vague I know, but maybe someone will recognize it from the photo.
Thanks.

Oh just a little more info (is there an edit button im not seeing on here?)

On my receipt it says LD306... but im not sure if thats a model number, or just how the shop classifies it in their system.

Connect the black to ground, red to power. Make sure the key is turned to the ON position on the siren. Try tapping the blue or yellow wire to power. If the siren starts going off, use that wire. The Compustar has a (+) siren output, so you need to use the (+) input.

Thanks JWorm, I'll try that tomorrow when I get a chance.

That worked great, the yellow wire was the (+) trigger. Thanks again JWorm!
