i have a compustar and its been working fine for about 5 months now, but yesterday i was taking a little road trip and when we were getting into the car the alarm went off. i tried turning it off but the horn kept going off. i disconnected the entire alarm box and the horn still went off. im guessing it was the factory alarm. it stopped after 10 mins then came back on. so i just pulled the horn fuses and anti theft fuse, it stopped but my headlights kept flashing so i had to disconnect my battery when i was parked. what can i look for to solve this problem.

What make, model & year vehicle is it ? If you diconnected the entire alarm CPU and the horn kept going off, then it's not a Compustar problem, rather an installer error where they did not tie into the OEM ALARM DISARM wire. There could have been several reasons why the OEM alarm has been dormant but most likely is that it can only be ARMED via the OEM remote or by locking the door via the key cylinder in the door.

You can arm the OEM system via the key cylinder in the door. To fix this problem, you must use the OEM disarm (-) output from the remote start and wire it to the GREEN / WHITE wire in the driver's kick panel or in the driver's door harness.
