I have a 1995 Land Rover Discovery and didnt have any remotes when I bought it so I decided to use an aftermarket keyless entry system in conjunction with my pre-existing factory alarm. I have used some information gathered from this site and created the diagram of my current install below. The problem I am having is that only once in a while the alarm arms when I lock the door and sometimes it doesnt do anything at all. The locking and unlocking of the doors work flawlessly , any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

According to my notes, the Discovery uses a Type F system ( Single wire ) for lock and unlock. Since there are no resistance values for this type F then it will be most likely a (-) trigger for either lock or unlock and then a normally open circuit to do the other function.

Door locks work fine, it is not arming and disarming properly.

are you saying that the car unlocks its door, but your alarm is still armed?
or are you saying that the car's doorlock are fine, but the alarm does not lock/unlock the door all the time?
(some times people use door lock and arm interchangebly,
in this situation, the words need to be clarified)

This is exactly what happens. I will lock the keyless entry and the doors will lock, it is 50/50 that the factory alarm will arm and if it didnt arm when I hit the lock button the first time I can unlock it and lock it again and it almost always arms the factory alarm. When I go to unlock the the keyless system it always disarms the factory alarm unless of course it is not armed. When I tested the blue wire connected to the microswitch at the key when you unlock it the system throws a ground and does the same when you lock with the key.
