Hello, all

Installed a Boa 165B in a 2000 Neon. Bypass module is a 556UW (555CW & 556CW both would not be recognized by the car). Remote programmed fine & car starts via remote. Parking lights act normal. Also starts via activation input wire. It dies after 5 seconds or so. Tried putting a key in the ignition while starting via remote and got the same result. Verified readings on tachometer wire, and am certain I have the correct one. Any ideas? I'm lost.

Connections are as follows:

Remote Start Module -> Car Wiring (Intended use per manual)

Primary Harness
Blue -> 556UW Blue (-200mA Status Output)
Violet/White -> BLACK/ Grey @ coil (Tachometer Input)
Brown -> WHITE/ Tan @ brake switch (+ Brake Shutdown)
Grey -> Not being used yet, ungrounded (- Hood Pin)
Black -> Chassis ground behind fuse box
WHITE/ Blue -> Not used, ungrounded (- Activation Input)
Light GREEN/ Black -> Not used, ungrounded (- Factory Alarm Disarm)
White -> Coil of Relay used to switch +12 to BLACK / YELLOW parking light switch (- Parking Lights)

Relay Wires
Violet -> Yellow @ ignition harness (+ Starter Output)
Red -> Pink/Black @ ignition harness (+12 Input)
Orange -> BLACK/ Orange @ ignition harness (+ Accessory Output)
Pink -> Dark Blue @ Ignition Harness (+ Ignition Output)
Red -> Red @ ignition harness (+12 Input)
Pink/White -> BLACK/ White @ ignition harness (+ Ignition Output 2) actually being used for accessory 2 as there is no ignition 2

Thank you all
MIKE

The 5 second shutoff leads me to believe the vehicle is not seeing the transponder key. Did you disconnect the 556U when trying to start it with the key in the cylinder?

Negative. I assumed that since it was shutting off so quickly that the 556UW was not being recognized. I left it connected, figuring that if it is not being seen it will not interfere if I put a key in the ignition. I'll try removing the ring from the ignition an starting with the key in again.

My 556UW is set up with the jumper in position 2 (default, 60-winding). Anyone know if that is the correct setting?

MIKE

Definitely unplug the bypass module when trying to remote start with a key in the ignition.........Chryslers won't start if they see two keys at once.

I got it going. All I had to do was reset everything. I disconnected the battery first. Then I reconnected it, reprogrammed the remote, and started the vehicle with the key. I drove it for 10 minutes, shut it down, and now it remote-starts just fine.
