I just completed tthe install of a 564T in my 05 f150 super cab (rear 1/2 doors with factory keyless entry) and I have a question on two things:

1) I am having a problem locating the door trigger wires. The wiring diagram says they should be BLACK/ yel (L) and BLACK/ pink (R) but when I use a dmm on these, they show ground at all times regardless if the door is open or closed. I am looking at the wires near the driver kick panel. I am currently using the positive trigger from the domelight but I would rather use the door trigger.

2) I wired the locks through a relay to the power lock and power unlock wires and when I disarm the alarm, the domelight will not illuminate like it does when I use the factory keyless entry remote. I'm guessing I need to use the domelight supervision on the 564T, correct?

Thanks,

Gary

FORD, F SERIES LIGHT DUTY, 2005, Door Trigger

The wiring above is for vehicles without keyless entry. Vehicles with keyless entry, the door trigger wires are found at the BCM, green plug. The LF door trigger is BLACK / YELLOW in pin 4. The RF door trigger is BLACK/ pink in pin 5. The LR door trigger is BLACK/ lt. blue in pin 12. The RR door trigger is BLACK/ white in pin 13. Use all wires and diode isolate each.

The BCM (Body Control Module) is on the driver side rear cabin wall.  You can also find the wires in the door jamb, to prevent using and testing the wrong wires.

You need to use the BLACK/ blue wire for dome supervision.  You will have towire a relay for this feature.

That's what I am trying to do - should the wires show ground only when open?

Yes, the door triggers will show ground only when the door is open.

I get that, but the wires show ground when the doors are closed also. Any thoughts?

You probably got the wrong wire?

Does your domelights turn on automatically when you open the door?

Did you try going further back in the drivers door opening? What did you use for locks....the dome should trigger when unlocked.

How far back should I go - I am about mid-way in the door opening. I used the power lock and unlock wires and it won't trigger the domelight - any thoughts?

This is an F-150 with the smaller rear doors? if so, you can find the two door triggers at the drivers side at the very rear of the truck. Just pop the plastic cover off a little, and you will see two harnesses, you will find the two wires in the harness that runs straight back to the rear wall.

Behind or near the rear seat or still in the door sill?

If you look in the drivers door sill just behind the drivers seat, you will see a harness T-off and run behind the seat. I catch the door triggers just behind the T in the main door sill harness running to the very back of the truck.

Mikvot,

Thanks, I will try there. I checked further back and got ground from the dmm whether the doors were open or closed - I cannot figure out why it is so difficult to find these wires. Does having keyless entry make a difference? Can I tap from the keyless module (wherever it is)?

Thanks,

Gary

The module is up against the back wall......so its easier to get em in the door sill. The wires are actually really easy to find.....it could be that you have your dmm set wrong? Not sure. I work on a ford lot, so if you can't find em, let me know. I can take a picture of the wire location for you, in fact i just did a supercab today.
