ok guys - I have a 1998 BMW 323 coupe fitted with an avital maxx1 alarm. The problem I've got is the car won't deadlock when locked with the remote, the doors and boot (trunk) lock when the key is pressed but the doors don't "deadlock" and the fuel filler flap doesn't lock, but they will when I use the key in the lock after arming using the remote. Everything unlocks from the fob OK after being locked with the key. Would the deadlock/fuel cap work if I reprogrammed a double lock pulse?

It's NOT recomended to activate the deadlock when doin a remote start, this triggers the factory starter kill. On JUST an alarm, OK.

Take 2 relays, lets pretend they are next to each other. 12v to both pins 87, on the relay to the left 12 v to 85. On the relay on the right 12v to pin 86.

To the left hand relay take your neg. unlock trigger to pin 86. To the relay on the right take the neg lock trigger to pin 85. NOW, between the negative trigger wires put a diode across the 2 wires CATHODE towards the unlock trigger.

pin 30 on the left to unlock wire blue/red

pin 30 on the right to lock wire WHITE/ red

many thanks for that - I'll give it a try this weekend. Also, any ideas on how to hook up the total closure part?
