Hey all,
I installed a DEI 520T backup battery module with my Python 900 alarm this weekend. I connected it per the instructions:
Red - constant 12v @ fuse box
Black - same ground lug as alarm brain
Grey - to alarm 12v input
Blue - to hood pin (-) instant trigger input
Everything is working great with the alarm, except for one thing. When I arm, I get the "something is open" chirp and the remote indicates that the hood is open and bypasses the zone. I don't have a hood pin on the car, the only thing attached to the hood pin input is the 520T. Is this a normal occurrence when the battery is discharged or something (the car hasn't run much since I did the install, so it is possible that the battery could be discharged), or do I have a bad battery backup module?
Just wondering if anyone has seen this before...

Update: this morning, I went to disarm the alarm and got the "out of range" beeps standing next to the car. I looked inside, the LED wasn't blinking. So, I'm thinking "crap, the battery is dead, but why didn't the 520T go off when the voltage dipped?" so I get ready to get an earful when I open the door, but I get nothing, and to boot, the dome light came on and the car started. So... I'm thinking I might have a bad 520T module. I drove the car for 20 minutes to see if it would charge the backup battery, but the alarm was still dead when I got to work.
What's the general consensus? Bad backup module? I'm going to take it out of the loop when I get home from work and see if the alarm comes back. The alarm was working fine for 6 hours or so yesterday, I checked it before I went to bed and it was still blinking away happily.
