does any one know where each of the coloured wires go to? I've searched the forums for abot 6 hours on sunday with no success. Think i've read some where that it use to be called " toad powerkey" I've got a vecta immobiliser thats finally given up, and dont think i can put up with being without my car for any longer- thanks in advance for any input
these immobilizers are usually just a starter kill relay, so is the problem you are having a no crank no start issue or is it a crank no start. either way I would get under the dash and find the aftermarket relay and cut it out and reconnect the factory wires color for color, make sure you solder

thanks for the speedy reply customak47. With the the vecta immobiliser at the moment, for some reason it doesnt want to turn the light green to make the engine to crank. ( sometimes if im lucky it does) i read some where on this forum, that old age can cause the relays to give up. Im a joiner by trade and vehicle electroinics definately isnt one of my strong points. i managed to find the vecta brain thing and there are 8 black wires coming out of the sealed tube. I was hoping if i could find the sterling excels wiring diagram my more competent mechanic mate might be able to fit it (vecta key/plug had already broken up so there was no point in trying to salvage it)
finally managed to find the wiring info i needed-
The two green bands - earth
The two white bands - immobiliser to ignition
The two blue bands - immobiliser to starter or fuel
The one orange band - to ignition positive
The one red band - to permenant live
The one yellow band - to door pin
