I need to know if teh remote reports whether the door is opened when it is diosarmed. I want to run dome supervision but I'm afraid if I just tap into teh door trigger it will show up as an open door alert on my pager everytime I disarm teh car. Let me know, thanks.

Make/Model/Year of vehicle?

Most newer vehicles offer dedicated door triggers and a separate wire for dome supervision.

It's a 1999 Jeep Wrangler. Most diagrams say to use the door trigger for dome supervision.

I should have also requested the make and model of the alarm. You are correct that your dome supervision wire is also your door trigger wire. You could use a relay to separate the dome wire from the door trigger when the dome supervision is activated. However I do not recall ever seeing an alarm that reported an open door from it's own dome supervision output.

It's the Compustar cm3000 control unit with the 2wssR pager/remote. I'm not sure if it reports the door open when the vehicle is unarmed. It may only do it when it is armed, if that's the case then I shouldn't have nany problems just wiring it to the door triggers.

I am not really familiar with the Compustar product but Compustar is a great brand, I do not believe you will have any problems. I do DEI product, and when you disarm with their 2-way it will not show the door open. I can not think that the Compustar would. If it does, just post back here and someone can post a diagram to show you how to separate the door trigger from the dome light using a relay when dome supervision is active.

I apologize, did not read the topic when I posted that last statement.

On the new PRO series Compustar units you can program the dome light delay so that it will auto detect when it goes out or have it timed to default detection after 1 minut or 4 minutes.

Well I should just be able to splice my dome supervision right into my door trigger input then. Hopefully the alarm will not get confused when it senses that a door has been opened because the dome turned on. I would feel much safer if I could just use the alarm as an isolater, meaning the door triggers soley go to the alarm, and when it senses them open it sends a negative trigger the signal to the domelight circuit. I suppose if it doesn't work it's just one wire I have to snip. I know I can turn teh domes on via the headlight switch too (pull and twist style), I may be able to find a trigger wire off of that which would work better. I just thought of it and my door chime may ring if I fool the car into thinking the door is open in order to turn the domes on. Don't remember if it chimes when the door is open, I'll have to check tonight.

Dude sometimes if you cant find a door triggers or have to run seperate door triggers, you  say, "screw it" and go to the dome light. When your alarm is NOT ARMED. the alarm will NOT go off if you open the door. But when the unit is ARMED. and then you open the door. The dome light will come on and the alarm will go off. To my understanding you're worried about you opening the door and the alarm going off... correct? It'll only go off if the unit is Armed. if your worried. Just call compustar direct and talk with someone there and they will explain it to you better. yep

nah you should be good. only reports back when your armed. so when you disarm/unlock your ride it shouldnt report. you know?! but for that kind of ride i reccomend you get some type of motion sensors for when you have yyour doors off. Just my thought. word
