2000 and up monte carlo and impala bcm problems after remote starter install. i recently installed an astrostart 4204a remote starter w/ keyless and a bypasskit gmbp for passlock interface. the night the customer left he claimed some of his instrument panel lights were out. the next day his air bag light, check engine light etc. came on. we ran the codes and they are as follow: b1440 - power module master input circuit mulfunction. b2958 - data / open short to battery. b2964 - key in ignition circuit high. air bag code: b1001 - incorrect sensing & diag mod install. we have sense switched the parkinglight wire from a lt. blue neg. @ the switch to a diode isolated white wire in a pink plug @ the bcm. now the only problem is the air bag light comes on intermittently weather started with the key or the remote starter. hoping someone has seen this issue or has a fix for it. thanks, corlon1974.

Did you power up the 2nd ACC wire ( BROWN ) ? If not do so and make sure it's powered as a 2nd ACC.

I had the same problem using the 1700g on an Impala. I dont remember the codes that the car threw but there was 4 or 5 of them. I cleared the codes and unplugged the 1700g and then started the car for what seemed like 30 times and then checked for any codes. There were none. I then plugged the 1700g back in and remote started the car and all the codes were back immediately. I switched out the bypass module to a 556l and the problem went away. The customer has not had one single issue since we switched modules.   I am not familiar with the bypasskit modules so if the gmbp is not a data module please disregard my post but if it is you may want to try a non data module.
