I wanted to know if anyone has installed doorlock actuators to a 2007 toyota tacoma.  We all know that the door lock mechanism uses the cable system and not the rod system.  If anyone has done it before and would like to help out a fellow installer, I would really appreciate it.  Pictures would really help as well.

It's just like the Colorado and Canyon system. I attach the door lock actuator to the door mechanism itself. This may require you to remove the entire door lcok & handle system in order to properly mount your actuator rod.

For cable types on newer Toyotas and Hondas, CLick here. Still use the same type of actuator but extra hardwares to keep the jacket in placed.

i did this on my titan and after a while the cable snapped because the actuator was over pulling and pushing the inner cable. now i cant use the manual doorlock lever inside the door panel. good thing i installed switches too. is this why you go straight for the latch? any idea if a bike cable would work to replace this cable? nissan doesnt sell just the cable you have to buy the whole assembly for like about $190.

gcorrea, yes I have heard of this happening before to other installers as well so I go straight for the locking mechanism instead on the door lock/handle. This way it will not snap the cable over time.
